This project is a major regeneration development in a strategically vital part of Coventry, being undertaken by Friargate Coventry LLP in partnership with Coventry City Council.
Friargate Coventry LLP appointed Mark Dyche as CDM-C for this major, office-led regeneration scheme. Comprising 300,000 m2, the project will be the leading transformational project within the Coventry & Warwickshire region.
The first thing that had to be completed was the demolition of 20 acres of general buildings, shops, multi-level car park and offices, including a 16 floor office block immediately adjacent to Coventry City Railway Station. This allowed the construction of an 11 storey building for Coventry City Council, the first of many units on this scheme.
The office-led scheme is planned to be sustainable with efficient, low energy buildings around a new public realm. Key to the master plan will be a new pedestrian boulevard linking the station with the city centre.
Safety For Design continues to work with the award winning lead designer and architect, Allies Morrisons, and the rest of the client’s team to provide health and safety guidance/coordination in the design process.
