Safety For Design assisted the Client in the collation and provision of the pre-construction information, ensuring any required information was provided to every designer and contractor appointed to carry out works. Safety For Design also worked closely with the Principal Contractor (Broadstaff Construction Limited) to coordinate health, safety and environmental matters during the construction phase of the project.
Safety For Design ensured all hazards were eliminated and/or controlled using our SD13 document (Hazard Risk Register) from our own developed CDM Policy. The design risk management process was coordinated with the Principal Contractor and the rest of the design team during design team meetings, to ensure hazards were identified and closed out promptly, ensuring the project could run as smoothly and safely as possible.
Our role as Principal Designer was completed by handing over the Health & Safety File to the Client. There were no accidents or environmental incidents, with only very minor disruption to local area, neighbouring residents or businesses.
