Safety For Design has over 20 years experience providing competent safety, health and environmental advice to a broad spectrum of businesses.

If a company employs more than 5 people, then by under Section 2 of the Health and Safety at Work etc, Act 1974 you are required to record your risk assessments and have a Health & Safety Policy in place, with a Health & Safety Policy Statement, signed by the head of the company.  Companies, under Regulation 7 of the Management of Health and Safety at Work, should also appoint a competent person who has the necessary skills, knowledge and experience to manage Health & Safety. For many small, low risk companies, the head of the organisation may act as a competent person, but for other businesses, it may be prudent to outsource this resource.
